Curiosity Corner competition No.22

Last week we asked you to be curious about Jeremy Hunt’s plans to change the NHS.

The winner of the Curiosity Corner Competition was B.CreeperJourno from Alperton Community School. Well done! Your question explored one of Mr Hunt’s most recently policies, to cut down the number of hospitals, and asked about what everyone else would think about it. This showed great curiosity and logic, well done!

i think that every hospital should have enough space for everyone because if you are wait listed and you have a serious illness then you could pass away before you get a chance to go to the hospital. Also even though lots of think that people who are unhealthy got there self unhealthy that they don’t deserve to have free health care i think that everyone deserves free health care even if it is their own fault.

Why try to improve something that is good enough already? It just isn’t getting enough sufficiency that it needs.

In my opinion i think no because there supposed to be spending it on special health equipment but no there only spending it on beds non needed equipment

      • I agree with you they should spend the money on beds and peoples health. And they should send the money on more equipment for the people.

      • we aggre with you their spending it on things they don’t need so they should buy stuff they don’t need instead of buying things patients really need hd16

    • No because they would spent the money on the building.

If we alter or remove ‘the basic model of the NHS,’ surely people who experience situations in which they need urgent medical help, usually via. ambulance, will not be able to feel safe and secure at home, which kind of contradicts Jeremy’s other views.

why is jeremy hunt in charge of the nhs, surely one man can’t decide the fate of the nhs alone. It would be better if there was some sort of mixed panel of people from all backgrounds to discuss everything. so my question is why is it his plans not the plans to help and satisfy the majority of people?

    SUPADUPA123

    • I think that they should be spending money on the hospital treatment and help the patients get there hospital treatment and get them to feel better, also I think that maybe we should get our pearents to give more money.

I honestly think that the NHS should stay because some people need help if they are seriously hurt. Because, like in America Donald Trump got rid of Obama Care and now anyone who needs to go to the hospital needs to pay, but maybe some people can’t afford it. But that’s in America. It will happen to the UK if the NHS can’t afford running it anymore. Such as people who don’t stay healthy, some people think that people shouldn’t get free health care if they don’t look after themselves, but some people do. Anyway, I think that the NHS should stay, for people in need. I think some people agree with Jeremy and some people don’t, that’s fine.

I think that Mr Hunt has a good idea because it will prevent more people coming to the NHS as they know how to stay healthy without coming to the hospital frequently. However he did make the junior doctors sign a contract that made them work longer hours and receiving a less amount of money for their salary. This caused many problems as the junior doctors performed protests and strikes that slowed down the services. In conclusion my question is that-can we trust Jeremy Hunt as he started this problem which could be turned into a humanitarian crisis?

Although Jeremy Hunt’s plan may make people happier because they are able to stay at home, this would reduce the amount of hospitals, meaning that there is less wide ranging care which could lead to more health problems. Would this really help people’s health as it does now?

I think that it is okay for any free service to be less quality than a costing service. eg:
If someone brought a £1 necklace it wouldn’t be very good quality especially compared to an £100 necklace.I think that we should raise more money to help the NHS because people’s lives are at stake we need to help them.
