  1. Do you think Spain can still call itself a democratic nation if it stops voters in one of its regions from voicing their opinions?
    NellieBly:the2nd

    • If the Catalans want their own independence and the rest of Spain doesn’t , I personally believe that they should vote on it. Spain can’t force Catalonia to stick with them , like how the people who wanted Brexit couldn’t change other peoples minds about it. With not that much money Catalonia has survived quite well so I think the Catalans deserve their freedom.

Me and my club classmates had the chance to ask a few questions to our art teacher, who is from Catalonia, and she answered our questions in her opinion. Here are a few questions I would like to ask:

    1. Do you think the vote for independence should be illegal? Why?

    2. The Spanish Government didn’t want Catalonia to leave because they get most of the money from there, do you think there are any other reasons why the Spanish government doesn’t want Catalonia to leave?

    3. Do you think the people who voted for independence deserved to be hit, injured and arrested?

Those are all my questions and I still think the vote shouldn’t of been illegal.

Does the rest of Spain just want money?
I think they do because since Catalonia has lots of money the rest of Spain take their share of their of the money, but Catalonia doesn’t have any say in this. It is a lot like Zimbabwe , for a long time Britain controlled Zimbabwe and didn’t let them practice their own religion, in Catalonia the Spanish government took away their language.
