Trump and his wall by alphabet

FeaturedImage_Walls_4.jpg

These are twenty-six letters from A-Z about Trump's wall, borders and migration. There is a small explanation for every word.

A is for America...

America is also the U.S.A. There are 50 states in America and the president is Donald Trump.

B is for Border...

The definition of a border is 'a line separating two countries.' Borders can keep people out of the country and stop people from getting out of countrys. Korea uses their borders to stop people from getting out as well as in. Border controls are measures taken out by people to control the flow of goods, people and animals. There are borders in many countries and some may be put in place. For example in our last issue we talked about how Ireland may have a harder border because of Brexit.

C is for Campaigning...

One of the reasons why Trump is building his wall is because he put it in his campaign to become president of the United States. He must have really wanted to build this wall because he is doing it only two years into his roll as president. Although, it was an idea that divided states, he won many votes and supporters from it.

D is for Donald Trump...

Donald John Trump, is the current president of the United States of America. He is the 45th president and he has once says in ,his many speeches, ''Some have suggested that a barrier is immoral. Then why do wealthy politicians build walls, gates and fences around their homes?''

E is for Election...

The two main candidates for the election were Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Trump won. I think this was the outcome because too many illegal immigrants were coming into the U.S.A so people liked the idea of the wall. If I was voting I wouldn't have voted for Trump because the statue of Liberty is also known as the immigrants statue. It's seen as a symbol of hope and a welcome to the millions of people who immigrated to the U.S a century ago.

F is for Feet...

Feet as in the measurment. The border between Mexico and America is 10317120 feet long. Trump is hoping for his wall to be 1000 metres long which will be made of concrete or steel.

G is for Great Again...

Donald Trump has said this in many of his speeches and he believes that the way to do this is through a 1000 meter wall.

H is for How...

This wall is going to cost a lot of money to make. So at first Trump thought that Mexico would pay for it. However, it soon became clear that they wouldn't pay. So now he has turned to his own parliament and the tax payers for money. He estimated that he would need $5.6 billion ,which is the same as £4.4 million. The ideas of payment created problems within Congress who are the people who create laws within America. There has been no official way of payment yet.

I is for Immigrants...

The definition of an immigrant is 'a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.' The reason why Trump's building the wall is to keep illegal immigrants out. People might immigrate to countrys because: they may have better jobs; more modern things; better education and more hospitals.

J is for Jurisdiction...

Jurisdiction is when someone has official power to make legal decisions and judgement. Donald Trump was able to have a jurisdiction to make the wall owing to the fact that he is the president. However, he wouldn't be able to if he wasn't.

K is for Know...

I think people did know what the consequenses of the wall would be because that's one of the reasons why people voted for him. They evidently knew that it would cost a lot of money because of how long it was going to be.

L is for Long...

This is similar to the letter F. Trump has made many prototypes of his wall and no wall like it has been build according to his prototypes. Before Mr. Trump, there were 654 miles of a variety of barriers.

M is for Mexico...

As mentioned before, at first Trump wanted Mexico to fund it. He has said,'' I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I'll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great great wall on our southern border and I'll have Mexico pay for that wall.'' However, Vincente Fox who is president of America has said ''we are not paying for that stupid wall.'' And we have come to the conclusion that they will not be paying for the wall. What I don't understand is why Trump wants Mexico to pay, they're no the ones building the wall.

N is for New York...

N is for New York because ,as mentioned before, the statue of liberty is a sign of welcome towards the immigrants who emigrated to the United States through New York more than a century ago.

O is for Opposite of agree...

Many people do not like the wall I think that this is because it shouldn't be the priority job for the president- it should be the people. The Democrat party have said that they believe that the wall will cause divisions, not unity. Furthermore, what Trumps says in his speeches is factually incorrect. The number of arrests at the US-Mexico border h ave decreased a lot since the early 2000s.

P is for Persistent...

This is 'continuing firmly or obstinately in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.' Trump is being persistent when it comes to the wall. This is because he is perpously giving false information in his speeches just to make people like the wall. He isn't listening to what people think and he isn't listening to the protests that people are making.

Q is for Questions...

Many people have questions about this wall such as: how are they going to pay for it; will the wall always be there and will it be made longer?

R is for Representation...

''The symbol of America should be the Statue of Liberty, not a 30-foot wall.'' Senator Chuck Schumer, Democratic Party. The wall may or may not be the the first thing that people think of when you say America. The 30-foot wall is the complete opposite to the statue of libery.

S is for Soon...

The wall won't be finished anytime soon. Experts believe that the wall will take longer to build than Trump claims. He says that the wall will be finished in two years.

T is for Terrorists...

There isn't a lot of evidence to support this but I think that this wall will stop terrorists from getting into America. However, Trump has tweeted: BUILD A WALL & CRIME WILL FALL! This is the new theme, for two years until the Wall is finished (under construction now), of the Republican Party. Use it and pray!

U is for Unity...

The definition of unity is 'the state of being united or joined as a whole.' Building this wall would mean that Trump would be breaking that unity.

V is for Very Ambitious...

This is similar to the letter P. The definitious of Ambitious is 'having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.' Trump is very determined to get this wall finished because he's not putting the people of America as his first priority.

W is for We...

When Trump makes his speeches he continuously says, ''We're going to build the wall.'' However, I don't think that there is a lot of 'we' right now when it comes to the wall. For example ,as mentioned before, he isn't thinking about what America thinks about the wall and also he is making one country pay and isn't even contributing towards the cost.

X is for Xenophobia...

I got this word from the last time I did a post by alphabet and I think that it could link to this issue as well. Xenophobia is a fear of people from different places. In a way Trump could be building this wall to escape from the foregin immigrants.

Y is for Years...

This is similsr to the letter S. But it's true, this wall is going to take a long time to make.

Z is for Zany...

To be zany is to be ''amusingly unconventional and idiosyncratic.'' So it's similar to ludocris which means to be crazy and unreasonable. Some people may think that Trump is being unreasonable because the wall is a partition and a break in America-it's tearing it appart. Furthermore, crime near the border isn't a big problem so there is no need for a wall aty this moment in time.

There are 26 words in the order of the alphabet to do with Trump and his wall. If you can find anything better for Y, please let me know.
