Is it worth it?
In the early 2000’s a group called LanzaTech invented a way to harness the power of air to collect only Co2 – It splits the atoms to transform it into water and oxygen (H20 and o20). This idea was scrapped because it cost too much money but as technology enhanced, the cost dropped to a less significant sum.
For every tons of CO2 that pumps through the pipes it costs $100. In total there is 570 million tons of CO2 in our atmosphere which adds up to $57 billion dollars to clean out our atmosphere. In comparison the company Microsoft is currently worth $534.81B. That would shrink the price of the cost for the CO2 factories.
As many companies are worth this amount or are worth more, they could easily fund this project and potentially become more famous – they saved the world! Microsoft could be the savior of this planet!
For every tone of CO2 that needs to be turned into O2 it takes 0.5 Giga Jules. A wind turbine generates 2.5 Mega Watts. Using a converter that equals 0.7 Giga Joules therefore one wind turbine can run one of these facilities.
In total this factory is worth the costs and by 2025 1% of the entire CO2 in our atmosphere will be transformed into O2. That means in 70 years all the CO2 will have been transformed into breathable O2 and drinkable H20
In conclusion, in my opinion this facility is worth every penny if it has the potential to clear our atmosphere of Carbon Dioxide.
