Planet B Exists! Should we use the Swiss Plant (DAC PROCCESS) to fight climate change?

Is it worth it?

In the early 2000’s a group called LanzaTech invented a way to harness the power of air to collect only Co2 – It splits the atoms to transform it into water and oxygen (H20 and o20). This idea was scrapped because it cost too much money but as technology enhanced, the cost dropped to a less significant sum.

For every tons of CO2 that pumps through the pipes it costs $100. In total there is 570 million tons of CO2 in our atmosphere which adds up to $57 billion dollars to clean out our atmosphere. In comparison the company Microsoft is currently worth $534.81B. That would shrink the price of the cost for the CO2 factories.

As many companies are worth this amount or are worth more, they could easily fund this project and potentially become more famous – they saved the world! Microsoft could be the savior of this planet!

For every tone of CO2 that needs to be turned into O2 it takes 0.5 Giga Jules. A wind turbine generates 2.5 Mega Watts. Using a converter that equals 0.7 Giga Joules therefore one wind turbine can run one of these facilities.

In total this factory is worth the costs and by 2025 1% of the entire CO2 in our atmosphere will be transformed into O2. That means in 70 years all the CO2 will have been transformed into breathable O2 and drinkable H20

In conclusion, in my opinion this facility is worth every penny if it has the potential to clear our atmosphere of Carbon Dioxide.

What do you think?

  1. Wow, this sounds like a really interesting way to lower CO2 levels. Why do think it isn’t being invested in enough? Would it be difficult to set up factories all over the world?

There is so much money in the world but the factories can only transform a tiny amount of CO2 per day. I suggest that if say Microsoft brought this idea they could increase the performance of these machines – In turn make the O-Zone safe again! I also do not think that it would be that difficult to set up these factories EVERYWHERE because of there simple design – as I said before Microsoft has over the amount of money that is required to create these factories.

    wow this is very interesting

Should we use (DAC PROCESS) to use against Climate Change?

    My Opinion

I think we should use (DAC PROCESS) to fight against Climate Change because using stuff that might help against Climate Change will save other people. We should use stuff that don’t pollute Carbon Dioxide. We should use bikes instead cars because cars and planes they pollute Carbon Dioxide that effects Climate Change so that’s a reason that we should not use cars that often. You can use it is not a law that we should not use cars but barely use cars. What I am trying to say is that don’t always use cars, cars are not the thing that can travel I know it is faster but it is worth it. Climate Change is a big problem for a lot of and even countries and countries have a lot of people and in them. And if Climate Change happens then there could be a lot of problems if Climate Change happens.

This is a really good plan and i see it can be funded and powered but the problem is that you would have to build factories all over the world which removes space and and actually needs a lot of money to build and the factories may produce something else harmful to the environment.

I agree what if this solution becomes a disaster. This may even wipe out humanity. Are you sure that this will work? I mean there is a 50% chance it will work but another 50% it won’t. I mean it will take up space time and so much effort but what if it doesn’t work it will take many vehicles to take everything down and those vehicles will pollute the planet more. So i’m saying make sure that you know it will work before you do it.

InterReporter, I get what you mean in that problem but there is a simple solution. Like I’ve said in my comment, these companies are earning massive amounts of money. They could simply put funding’s into expanding their facilities for a room where productions for this plant can begin.

I certainly believe that this is worth it. It could be possible that these big companies could put the minority of their funding’s into the government which would not only help climate change, but could go into other major problems such as the Syrian war, the NHS ext. I think this idea would definitely work if the companies consented to this.
