Should there be priorities on the waiting list?

Hi, it’s Super fast cheetah. There are points for and against having priorities on the waiting list. While some tension and anger could be caused between families on the list some people may need it more than others. So, what do you think? Should some be prioritized over others or should we all still be patient and equal. The only problem with this is some people may not really need it as much as others. So what is the problem here and what is the solution?

It depends what they prioritise on, I think. If they go by maybe like someone has a limited time to get into Social Housing, that would be fair. But I don’t think we should just prioritise by who the government like or their background.

  2. I think that we should rehouse people that are mentally ill, pregnant, a student, elderly etc. They should be first on the waiting list. Some houses around London are abandoned, we should reclaim them for citizens that NEED social housing.

@blackmagic13 I think that maybe there should be priorities on the waiting list as someone who is pregnant would need somewhere to live before and after the baby was born as they would be raising a child and for the child to grow up homeless would not be fair. A young adult looking for their first home also should be a priority as they are starting out in life and should have the best start as possible. There is also old people who might need looking after due to mental illnesses. All of these people deserve a roof over their heads but personally I think that the order of priority is…

I believe that there should be a priortity list for certain houses but not for a house in general. What I mean is that if there is a bungalow bfor sociable housing the disaster should be offered the house first but the others on the list that are not physicallally disabled should still get a sociable house.

  5. I think people that should be at the top of the list are people who;homeless and people who are in danger of having no house because they cannot afford normal house or those who cannot work long shifts

It is my opinion that the amount of money spent is the problem and the solution is to use the amount we pay the EU and add that to the amount we currently spend on it.

    • This is an interesting opinion, The Battlefront. You’re bringing in knowledge of other issues which is excellent and shows great curiosity! I’d like you to be sceptical; why might the government not spend more money on social housing?

Well everyone should be equal and where people are prioritized sometimes it should happen but it stops different people from being homed so it needs to be approached different

The way to prioritize is to take in all those without friends or family: because those with have somewhere to go. Whereas the once without anyone will be on the streets.
