A Vegan Society | Issue Highlights & Thought Leader

Congratulations to St Saviour's & St Olave's School who are our Thought Leader of this Issue!

We loved reading the discussions on the Hub during this Issue. There was a real range of discussion that developed over the six weeks; from ethics to the environment, lots of bases were covered. Well done to St Saviour's and St Olav'es School, who submitted really fun and informative Final Pieces about a vegan society. We also enjoyed reading about the'r vegetarian challenge and creative competition entries!

We were also really impressed by...

We enjoyed reading this post from St Peter's Primary School who showed excellent curiosity and open-mindedness when they interviewed their teacher's vegan friend. They came up with lots of questions which dug into motivations for veganism, lifestyle and choices. We thought it was great that they inspired a further conversation among other BNC members too! Equal Pay Today and two of their Burnet News Club buddies wrote a post about their week trialing vegetarianism. We loved reading about this and seeing how open-minded they were to a change in their diet. We were surprised that despite their struggle to avoid eating meat, they might considering vegetarianism in the future. Great empathy was shown! Read the full post here

  1. Well done, St Saviour’s and St Olave’s School! I also want to mention that SHINexoKEy and WatermelonPrincess’s final piece has really given me new insight on how it would impact our society if we were all non-meat eaters. Congratulations to everyone at St Saviour’s and St Olave’s!
