Curiosity Corner Competition no. 38

Last week, we asked you to think about green energy solutions. This question from Secret7 at North Beckton asked where we would get the money from for green energy solutions. This is a question lots of people ask

TIPS FOR GREAT QUESTIONS

We look for questions that make people think about the issue. Make sure they are:

  • Debatable – make sure people could have different points of view on the answer.
  • Based on what you have learned or thought about the issue so far.

Should we prioritise now or people in the future?
we should prioritise people now then later overwise it might be to late then it will not be useful.

Here’s the big question; should we prioritise people now or people in the future? And here’s my answer:
If we prioritise the future, there will be no people to live in it but if we prioritise the people now, will there be a future to live in?

Don’t the cars deserve to drown, seeing that they’re the cause?

where would we put the hundreds of millions of ‘drowned ‘cars, in a massive dump, burn them, in the sea? That’s just going to worsen the situation at hand; climate change.

Dear Alpha, I disagree with you and agree.
I disagree because if you didn’t know cars aren’t the only cause of Climate Change, and I know for a fact that their more serious causes then cars, such as Factories. And in my opinion a sort of agree with you because instead of cars we can use bikes they don’t give out pollution and it’s good for exercise.

PhantomRaven#1 I disagree with you saying to use bikes because bikes are to slow and in a car you can have more than 1 person. In a moden world it is important to travel long distances.

I think that climate change is so dangerous so why do we not waste our money on green energy? It could save lots of lives.

    By Gamer8

    • Hi Gamer8,

‘Wasting money’ would usually be considered to be spending money stupidly. Do you think it is a waste of money to invest in green energy or good way to spend money?

My opinion is that we should make more electricity to help poor people because they could die from heat. This means that we need to improve hospitals for poor people. I believe that everyone should have a good life and be healthy.

I actually kinda think that climate change is good because , lets say it was always hot , it could actually affect our health so we need all types of tempratures.

      Lululemon07,
I disagree with you because climate change doesn’t only bring on drastic temperature changes but it also brings severe weather conditions such as monster hurricanes, terrifying vast earthquakes and devastating floods. And don’t tell me that these natural disasters will improve someone’s health, they definitely won’t.

I think that we should start building more wind farms because it doesn’t create much pollution because you’re not using much electricity to power it.

I think climate change does disrupt the food chain because animals at the top of the
food chain like snow leopards will be killed.

I disagree with you LuluLemon07 because climate change can cause very high temperatures and very low temperatures which are dangerous for the planet. Also, having all types of temperatures might even affect people’s health even more.

Where would we get money for green energy?
If we want to afford environment healthy energy systems we need to convince the Government that we need the money. We can use Billboards, Newspapers and anything else that will attract the government and let them realise that are Planet is dying! So they can give us the money we need to stop Climate Change. Also, we can take down Factories and replace them with Wind Farms which will stop pollution getting into our skies and will also stop destroying the Environment and its creatures, we can also try and stop people cutting down trees illegally because if you didn’t know trees take in Carbon Dioxide which we breathe out and then trees would make Oxygen so if there isn’t any more trees there wouldn’t be a lot of Oxygen. This all might seem impossible but if we all try we will save your world and our world.

I believe that Climate Change is a bad thing because 800 Million people are currently vulnerable to climate change impacts such as droughts, floods, heat waves, extreme weather events and sea-level rise. There is also a lot of other reasons suck as: Price tag:US$ 140 billion per year. This is what it would take to make the changes humanity needs to adapt to a warming world. It may sound like a lot, but its less than 0.1% of global GDP.
We could still help from climate change from happening. Here are some ideas: You could raise money to grow more crops in gardens, you could save your money and create a group which would help growing crops and to clean energy solutions. We all know that there are a lot of other ways to help. Lets help climate change!
