This topic is talking about AIs and the future of work. This is important because people need to know about how AIs are now beginning to take over different jobs worldwide and whether this is good or not.
Although AIs can be harmful, they can also be helpful. As someone in my class says “In my opinion, I feel like AI can help by doing some jobs that many people struggle with and many people can not cooperate with.” By saying this, she means that if people find their jobs hard, an AI can help with the difficult ones but not completely take over as this will lead to unemployment. AIs can also minimise errors, create new jobs, record data and can even work in any state of weather, climate or amount of time.
However, some people may disagree and think that Ais are not safe and harmful to society. As someone else in my class says “ I think AI should remain as a technological advancement instead of another form of life.” What she means by this is that AI should only be used as a helpful guide for things that are important and not something that you use all the time. Jobs that AIs should not take over are footballer, doctor, therapist and so many more.
In conclusion, I believe that AI could be used in very serious and important situations instead of jobs that occur all the time. Technology could be very useful for the future but also very harmful. People could be left unemployed all because of a robot. We should not let this stop us from achieving our dreams and goals and we should make a change by pausing making AI and focus on human needs.

Hi! I agree with you so much as AI could steal jobs from people in such a tedious manner when we could be advancing AI to help out with dangerous jobs. Though I am not sure if, as a whole, we could pause the development of AI since it is a technical thing. People have dreams in computer programming and that would include AI or at least technology that could improve its development.
In my opinion,I believe that certain jobs could be better to let the AI do certain jobs as some of the jobs are very challenging people to make them not be the people that they really are and hurting them either in a mental way or a physical way.On the other hand,AI could do some severe damage or hurt peoples feelings as if the AI malfunctions and they were brought in to do work in a hospital and they put any injection or cut the skin to deep it could do grave injuries or maybe worse,DEATH!.All I want to send out to the world that AI isn't always the best idea to bring up with all jobs so it should be for different jobs noot all.

With the rapid increase of Ai’s intelligence there is a very real possibility that many of us will lose our jobs because of Ai’s lack of mistakes and that they can work all day every day. Ai is quickly becoming a pillar in the community with people now relying on it for things like homework,decision making and healthcare ect. Websites like chat GPT and Adobe firefly make it extremely easy to access Ai and such a powerful one too people can ask for an 1,000 word essay about anything and within 20 seconds it’ll be done and now it’s growing to the point to where it can make realistic songs and videos.
But some companies like amazon, apple and microsoft are already using Ai for some jobs and have put some people into unemployment with no source of income. This would make the unemployment rate go up significantly and poverty and homelessness would be alot more common. People without a job and we could hire Ai to work in their homes making many people lazy and reliant on Ai to the point where we become useless without is. Sometimes we see Ai taking over jobs every day like automatic checkouts at shops and companies using Ai customer service.
But this argument isn’t only negatives some positives are that with Ai it can perform safer surgery, make more accurate diagnoses, work more without needing pay and become smarter than every human because they would have a photographic memory remembering everything the see and hear and access to the entire internet in half a second it could also do trials and sentencings more fairly. It can also help with efficiency because of self checkout but they also need human assistance for if someone wants to buy alcohol they need an employee to confirm that they are eligible to buy it.
In my opinion the pros and cons depend on how smart the Ai is for example if an Ai powered robot is a teacher it could read something wrong and put that into the mind of children making them believe it or if they’re a doctor they could read misinformation which could lead to worsening of illnesses and maybe even the death of some patients. I think that if a job is understaffed they should use Ai to be a filler for it until they can find a replacement this way Ai can still be used usefully but unemployment will not grow massively because of it.
I agree with you and I think that AI is very useful, but it can be very bad for people because they can lost their jobs just because of AI. AI can help a lot in some things, for example, it can quickly solve a task that we need. I hope that AI will not become a habit and that people will have their own jobs like now.
